Safety Protocols & Standards

At Dakota Spirit, every athlete’s safety—physical, emotional, and developmental—is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where athletes can grow in confidence and skill under the guidance of certified, caring coaches.

Certified Coaches & Training

Every staff member is a USASF-certified coach, trained in CPR, First Aid, and concussion protocols. Our team also completes an annual Safety Summit to stay current on best practices and athlete safety needs at every level.

Stunt & Tumbling Safety

All stunting follows USASF stunt safety guidelines. New skills are introduced on mats and under close coach supervision to ensure proper grips, alignment, and communication between athletes.

Facility & Equipment Safety

Our equipment, mats, and spring floors are regularly inspected and maintained. The gym is equipped with accessible first-aid supplies, AEDs, and clearly defined emergency procedures.

Child Protection & Security

Athletes are always supervised by trained staff. Sign-in/out procedures and clear reporting policies help ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our care.

Progressive Skill Development

Athletes learn skills through age-appropriate progressions, focusing on proper form and technique. Spotters are always present until skills are mastered safely and consistently.

Health, Wellness, & Emergency Care

Warm-ups, hydration, and recovery practices help prevent injuries. Coaches are trained to recognize fatigue and follow emergency action plans whenever needed.

Dakota Spirit Code of Ethics

Dakota Spirit is guided by excellence, integrity, and a Christ-centered foundation. We believe cheerleading develops character as much as skill, and our community reflects that purpose every day.

Respect & Integrity

Athletes, coaches, and parents are expected to lead with kindness, honesty, and sportsmanship—on and off the mat.

Teamwork & Spirit

We value unity, encouragement, and supporting one another through challenges and successes. Shared effort and positive spirit are at the core of our culture.

Commitment to Safety

Everyone plays a role in maintaining a safe environment by following guidelines, listening to coaches, and approaching each practice with focus and responsibility.

Leadership Through Faith & Excellence
